Car shows feature racers’ vehicles

Car racers in Pocatello gave a preview of what they’ll be racing in this summer.

Pocatello Raceway took over the old Phil Meador Toyota on Yellowstone Avenue on Saturday with a car show.

The show featured the different classes of cars people will see on the racetrack, from junkyard dogs to modified cars.

Pocatello Raceway owner Jerry Bailey said if he put on this show two years ago there would have been around eight cars. He said without the support, there wouldn’t be a racetrack.

“I can go out to the track right now and if there’s no fans, there’s no sponsors, there’s no race cars– I have nothing,” Bailey said. “It’s really all the support of everybody that makes this happen.”

The first race for the season is on Saturday, May 30. For more information about Pocatello Raceway and a full schedule you can go here.
