Man arrested after chase through Idaho Falls, Ammon

A man led police on a chase through Idaho Falls and Ammon on Monday night, authorities said.

Officers were called to the 2300 block of Stace Street around 7:50 p.m. for a domestic disturbance. The person who called police said Cody J. Hill, 23, of Idaho Falls, had a gun and threatened a 23-year-old woman.

Update: A woman who claimed to be Hill’s girlfriend called the station Tuesday evening said he did not threaten her in any way, but was threatening to harm himself.

When officers arrived, Hill was in his vehicle and had a gun. He refused to cooperate and drove away, police said.

Hill eluded police through Idaho Falls and Ammon. A few times, he swerved toward officers as they tried to stop him, police said.

Bonneville County deputies stopped Hill on a field north of Sunnyside Road and east of Ammon road around 8:05 p.m.

Hill was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, felony eluding and resisting arrest. He was also booked into the Bonneville County Jail on a county misdemeanor warrant.
