Food drive to benefit puppies and kittens

Happening Hounds and the Humane Society of the Upper Valley are holding their spring pet food drive.

The food will help animals in the HSUV’s foster care system.

Right now the humane society has more animals than foster homes. And with puppy and kitten season right around the corner, the HSUV is expecting to take care of even more animals.

Melissa Middleton, owner of Happening Hounds in Idaho Falls, said food drives like this do more than just feed the animals – they keep shelters open.

“It helps lessen the euthanasia rate,” said Middleton. “It helps find these fur babies forever homes so they can become pets instead of statistics.”
