Man arrested in Olzak death

A man was arrested on a warrant in connection with the death of Josh Olzak.

Tanner R. Cox of Idaho Falls, 22, was arrested on a charge of voluntary manslaughter Monday after turning himself in around 1:30 p.m.

He is being held in the Bonneville County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Police said Cox, Olzak and others got into an argument in the early morning hours of May 9. Cox allegedly punched Olzak one time, knocking him down and causing his head to hit the ground.

Police are still investigating the fight and what led up to it.

Josh Loveless, who was with Olzak, has said three cars followed them after they left a bar. Loveless said after they were almost ran off of the road, he and Olzak got out of the vehicle, only to be beaten immediately for no apparent reason.

Loveless had to undergo surgery on his jaw.

The Idaho Falls Police Department is still seeking information about others who were seen with Cox at the Peppertree Lounge the evening of May 8 and early morning of May 9. They are also still seeking information on a white Dodge Durango and a light? colored car – possibly a Volkswagon Jetta or Subaru Impreza – that were involved in the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (208) 529-1200.
