Watch out for construction on Woodruff

A road construction project will be slowing down traffic on Woodruff for most of the summer.

Phase 1 of the Woodruff Avenue project is moving traffic to two lanes from the Caribou/Easy street intersections to the canal north of Kearny Street.

The speed limit has been reduced to 25 mph.

This is expected to last until the end of June.

Phase 2 will shift the two lane traffic to the east side of Woodruff and will end mid-July.

The city said a larger storm pipe will be installed, along with new inlets and two fire hydrants. The intersections will be more handicap-accessible, and will include minor sidewalk, curb and gutter replacements as needed. The project also involves Garfield Street.
