Bonneville school bond closer than thought

A tight general obligation bond election in Bonneville School District 93 was even tighter than originally thought.

In preparing for a final canvas of Tuesday’s ballots, Bonneville County Clerk Ron Longmore said the final count changed, leaving the measure just 17 votes short of the 66.6 percent needed.

The first, unofficial vote count Tuesday night left the final vote 44 votes shy of the necessary majority.

The new tally is 6,645 in favor and 3,347 against or 66.5 percent.
