Ucon woman arrested on various charges after car driven into pond

A Ucon woman was arrested on various charges after she drove her car into a pond, Idaho Falls police said.

Irma A. Valero, 30, drove her Honda sedan into a pond at Sage Lakes Golf Course around 11 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Officers determined Valero had been driving under the influence. She was arrested and taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for a jail clearance. While at the hospital, Valero became combative, noncompliant, and kicked both an officer and a nurse, police said.

Valero was booked into the Bonneville County Jail on charges of driving under the influence, disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, felony battery on an officer and felony battery against a health care worker.
