District 93 teachers to get raises

Bonneville School District 93 finalized its 2015-2016 teacher contracts Wednesday, and all teachers in the district will be getting a raise next year.

The teacher’s union and district administrators decided on a plan that focuses on a career ladder. The plan focuses on experience and education level.

The assistant superintendent says it’s good for everyone.

“We love and appreciate our teachers,” said Marjean McConnell. “I mean, they are the backbone of what we do. It’s the teachers who make a difference for kids in a classroom, so we want to do what we can for our teachers to show them that we appreciate them and that we’re willing to work with what we get to make it the best place. Make them love their jobs and love what they do – that’s important.”

Full-time teachers will continue to have insurance paid for by the district.
