Lanes clear after I-15 rollover near Blackfoot

Both lanes of Interstate 15 northbound north of Blackfoot are open after a one-vehicle rollover.

Idaho State Police said Debra Mason, 58, of Idaho Falls was traveling south in the right lane in a Toyota Camry, and Carylne Bowerman, 37, of Idaho Falls, was traveling south in the left lane in a Nissan Sentra. As traffic slowed near the off-ramp, Mason moved over into Bowerman’s lane, ISP said.

Bowerman hit the brakes to avoid a collision and lost control of her car. She went off the road to the left and overturned in the median.

Bowerman was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls by ground ambulance. Troopers said seat belts were worn by all occupants of the vehicles.

The northbound left lane was blocked for about two hours for emergency vehicles.
