Man accused of making child porn faces federal charges

A federal grand jury indicted an Idaho Falls man on five counts of sexual exploitation of a minor child and one count of possession of sexually explicit images of minors.

According to the indictment, between 2006 and 2013, Justin Dixson, 41, produced at least five series of images of an underage girl engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Additionally, Dixson is accused of having sexually explicit images of minors under the age of 12.

The charge of sexual exploitation of a minor child is punishable by up to 30 years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000, and up to a lifetime of supervised release. The charge of possession of sexually explicit images of minors is punishable by up to 20 years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000, and up to a lifetime of supervised release.

The trial will be held at the federal courthouse in Pocatello. It has not yet been scheduled.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Friday.
