Woman dies in Pocatello motorcycle crash

A woman has died after a car collided with her motorcycle on U.S. Highway 30 in Pocatello around 10:10 a.m. Friday.

Joanne Christofferson, 29, of Pocatello, was traveling eastbound in a 1997 Mazda Protege, when she drifted into the westbound lane of travel, colliding with a 2005 Harley Davidson driven by Staci Shryock, 44, of Pocatello, who was traveling westbound, Idaho State Police said.

Shryock died at the crash. There is no word if she was wearing a helmet.

Christofferson was transported by ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center.

The highway was closed for about two hours from Ridge Street to Alameda Road.

The investigation is ongoing, and police haven’t said if they will cite Christofferson.
