Hospice home planned
Hospice of Eastern Idaho in Ammon will be opening the second-ever hospice home in the state later this summer.
“It allows the essence of hospice to continue in a facility, it will be home-like. That’s why we’re calling it a hospice home, not a hospice house, it will be home-like: warm, caring, and just the way hospice is- we will continue to have the heart of hospice right here” said Celeste Eld, Executive Director of Hospice of Eastern Idaho
The home will allow six patients at a time to be cared for, each with their own room.
Other rooms in the home include a family room, dining area, and living room.
Currently, the hospice’s patients are cared for at their homes or at other nursing homes in the area.
Hospice management is looking to raise $600,000 to further develop and hire staff. As of Monday, the hospice has raised $175,000 for the home. Fundraising organizers hope to have the home open by early August.
