Family: Search for missing boater still active despite rumors
One of the family members of a boater who has been missing on the Snake River since May 24 wants the public to know the search is still active.
Searchers have been looking for Steve Ryan Woods, 38, of Ogden, Utah (and formerly of Menan), after his boat hit a partially submerged cottonwood tree and overturned in the Snake River near the Conant Valley ramp. The other three people aboard were able to making back to shore safely.
“You recently ran a story on my brother-in-law who went missing when we crashed our boat last Sunday,” said Kim Robinson of Clearfield, Utah, in an email to Local News 8. “We have still been actively searching for him. We have talked with several people along the river who said that they heard that he has been found so they have not been looking. Would you mind putting out the word that he is still missing and that anyone out on the river to keep their eyes open?”
Robinson said Woods was wearing tan waders and a blue shirt.
If anyone around the river sees what looks like a person in the water or anything out of the ordinary, contact the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office at (208) 529-1299.
