Climber rescued after 150-foot fall at Grand Teton

A climber from Georgia has multiple injuries from a 150- to 200-foot sliding fall at Grand Teton National Park.

The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports (http://bit.ly/1QPcSkc) a park news release says 31-year-old Charlie Emerson was helicoptered out of Garnet Canyon Tuesday afternoon after he slid in an area where wet snow sloughs were shedding off from above.

Park spokeswoman Jackie Skaggs says all Grand Teton employees are certified emergency medical technicians. Two saw Emerson fall and hiked over to provide medical care and move Emerson to a safer spot.

Park rangers arrived in a helicopter and took Emerson to the hospital to have multiple injuries treated.
