Great neighbors come to aid of toddler

The Colonial Theatre in Idaho Falls was filled with the sounds of music last night in a benefit concert for 2-year-old Hadley Larsen, who was born with brittle bone disease.

“It manifests itself through fractures, and she has had 42 and she’s only 2,” her mother, Kendra Larsen said.

There is no cure for brittle bone disease. It’s officially known as osteogenesis imperfecta. Every six weeks, Hadley has to go to Shriners Hospital in Salt Lake for treatments.

“They give her an IV treatment that gives a little more strength to her bones and helps her deal with the pain,” Hadley’s father, Eric Larsen said.

The costs of broken bones, surgeries and treatments adds up. That’s why SOS New Generation performing group organized this benefit concert with local talent performing. Even Hadley made an appearance in a family musical number.

“Hadley has been a delight and a joy,” her mother said. “She might be in pain, but she can usually smile.”

If you’d like to donate to Hadley’s fund, you can go their Facebook page “Hope for Hadely.”
