The Longest Day: Virtual dementia tour

A simulator this Friday will allow participants to gain a basic understanding of living with dementia.

It’s called Virtual Dementia Tour, created by Second Wind Dreams-a company that grants wishes to the elderly with illnesses.

Friday, Morningstar Senior Living is hosting the tour from 9a.m to 5p.m to celebrate The Longest Day, a national event for the Alzheimer’s Association that takes place this Sunday.

The tour requires participants to wear various gear such as gloves, distorted sunglasses, and headphones with noise playing inside.

Participants are then given tasks to accomplish in the room under these conditions.

Expert speakers for Alzheimer’s and dementia will also be presenting from 10a.m to 3:30p.m to give families a better idea of living with relatives with Alzheimers and dementia.
