Gas line breaks in Fremont County crash

Two people were hospitalized in a crash in Fremont County that broke a gas line.

The sheriff’s office said the two-vehicle crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of 1900 East and 400 North. Authorities did not disclose the cause of the crash.

One driver was taken by ambulance to Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg, and the other driver was taken by helicopter to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.

One of the vehicles broke a main gas line belonging to Intermountain Gas Company, the sheriff’s office said. The line was shut down because of the break, and the intersection was closed for 3.5 hours due to the leak.
