District 93 school board sees changes, seeks unity

Two new Bonneville School District 93 school board members were sworn in Wednesday, and the board also got a new chairman, who says the community needs to move forward after the third failed bond.

“Our public really needs us to come together and to figure out and make some really tough decisions,” Chairman Brian McBride said. “We realize that we’re not always going to agree, but we need to be able to disagree without being disagreeable, and I think that’s kind of where our focus is: Face our tough issue and work together on this.”

New trustees Paul Jenkins will serve Zone 4, and Greg Calder will serve Zone 1. They have both expressed similar sentiments on unifying the District 93 community.

On Wednesday, board also dismissed a school board violation on the consent calendar, saying the panel did not find the ethics violations that were on it.
