Police rule death of man hit by a train in Idaho Falls a suicide

Idaho Falls police say the man who was hit by a train this afternoon committed suicide.

Police are not releasing the name of the 39 year old man until the family has been notified.

According to police reports, officers responded to the train?pedestrian collision just east of Farr’s Candy Company on South Boulevard and north of the “D” Street underpass around 1:30 p.m. after individuals spotted the man’s body on the train tracks.

Police believe the death occurred around twenty minutes prior to the 911 call.
