Man pleads guilty to selling meth

An Idaho Falls man pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. District Court to distribution of methamphetamine.

According to the plea agreement, an undercover officer met with Gerardo Botello, of Idaho Falls, at Botello’s home. The officer bought 53.7 grams of meth from Botello.

U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson said Botello’s charge is punishable by 10 years to life in prison, a maximum fine of $10 million and at least five years of supervised release.

Botello is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 21 before Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill at the federal courthouse in Pocatello.
