PETA honors Madison County deputies for dog rescue

The animal rights group, PETA, is awarding the Madison County Sheriff’s Office with its “Compassionate Action Award”.

Deputies are being honored for helping dog-owner Danielle Larsen rescue her dog from a marshy inlet along the Snake River near Twin Bridges July 15th.

“Thanks to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, this beloved dog escaped this exhausting and potentially fatal ordeal,” says PETA Senior Director Colleen O’Brien. “PETA hopes his rescuers’ dedication and kindness will inspire others to come to the aid of animals in need.”

In addition to a framed certificate, PETA said it would also send the office a box of vegan cookies.
