One man killed, four hurt in Grand Teton fire
Update: The name of the man who was killed in the fire has been released. Anthony Graviano, 28 years old. Graviano had lived in multiple locations recently including Pennsylvania and Florida.
One man was killed and four other people hospitalized after a fire at the Grand Teton Lodge Company’s employee dormitory at Colter Bay in Grand Teton National Park.
Park spokesperson Jackie Skaggs said the fire was reported at around midnight Thursday. Approximately 70 people living in the two-story dormitory were evacuated.
One man was located and carried out of the building by firefighters. They maintained CPR on the man for one hour before he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the victim was not released pending notification of relatives.
Four other persons were transported to St. John’s Medical Center in Jackson for treatment of minor injuries and smoke inhalation.
The fire was believed to have been contained to one room, but the cause of the fire has not been determined.
Residents of the facility were temporarily housed in other locations.
A joint investigation is being conducted by Grand Teton National Park with the assistance of a Jackson Hole Fire/EMS investigator and a State of Wyoming fire investigator from Cheyenne.
