Two brothers rescued from Middle Teton climb
Two Florida brothers had to be rescued from the Middle Teton in Grand Teton National Park Tuesday.
Park officials said Nick and Eric Christu were attempting to ascend the “Dike Route” but could not locate the top of the pinnacle. They began rappelling toward the south fork of Garnet Canyon.
Because of their uncertainty about the terrain and their state of exhaustion, the brothers called Rangers for help.
Park Rangers conducted a short-haul rescue of the pair at around 5 p.m. The mission concluded at approximately 7:40 p.m.
The brothers said they have 39 years of climbing experience in the Teton Range.
