Chubbuck briefly revisits pay raise for elected officials

Chubbuck City Council voted once again Wednesday night to table an ordinance that would have reintroduced the topic of pay raises for elected city officials.

Back in November, Chubbuck Mayor Kevin England sparked controversy with a proposal that would have seen his pay rise almost 45 percent.

At the time, the city passed an ordinance requiring council to revisit the issue once every two years beginning in 2017. Wednesday, City Council voted to postpone the issue until 2017 in keeping with that ordinance.

Pay for Chubbuck’s elected officials has remained stagnant for almost a decade.
