Multiple small fires burn in Idaho Falls foothills

A number of small fires are burning in the Idaho Falls foothills.

The three fires are burning in the area of Foothill Drive and Valverde Drive near the hills in the Idaho Falls/Iona area. No structures are currently in danger and the Idaho Falls Fire Department is not requiring anyone to evacuate their homes at this time.

According to Idaho Falls Fire Department the fires are contained for now, but warn with the wind fires could quickly grow and spread. They also say its strange that there are three small fires burning so close to each other.

The fire department says they will be leaving trucks at the location of the fires for the time being to monitor the fires and make sure they do not spread.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
