Rexburg Airport looks at expansion, relocation for possible changes
The Rexburg/Madison County airport is looking at expanding or relocating the current airport per their Airport Master Plan Study.
On Wednesday the airport presented their plan to the City Council.
The plan outlines two proposals to either expand the current runway of the airport or relocate to another location to accommodate more business flights coming in to the Rexburg area.
There’s also the option of leaving the current airport as-is, which is currently undergoing minor construction to maintain the airport.
“30 years from now we want to look back and say we did the right thing. We don’t want to look back 30 years from now and say boy it’s really to late to look at the opportunities and options we should’ve looked at,” said David Taylor, chairman of the airport board.
