Rexburg Chamber CEO to resign

After 20 years in the post, Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce CEO Donna Benfield has announced she will step down from the job December 31, 2015.

Benfield will assume a management position with the Hawaii based company “Voices of Change”. The company is affiliated with performer LT Smooth.

“I love the City of Rexburg and have deeply appreciated working with the Chamber as their CEO for the last 20 years. I have chosen to retire as the CEO as I have been presented with an incredible professional opportunity to work with LT Smooth. This change will provide me with greater professional opportunities to assist LT in promoting and sharing his positive message of hope with youth throughout the world.”

Benfield was elected to the Rexburg City Council in 2000 and is currently serving her fourth term.

Chamber of Commerce Board Chairman Geoff Thomas said a search for a replacement for Benfield will begin immediately.
