School bus crash injures one

The Idaho State Police are investigating a crash that involved a Snake River School District school bus.

At about 7:30 a.m. Monday morning Idaho State Police responded to an accident on State Highway 39. Lanett Sanders, age 41, of Blackfoot was traveling eastbound on the highway, slowing to turn onto 1075 West. Dekan Peterson, age 16, of Blackfoot, was also eastbound in a Toyota pickup. Peterson struck the bus from behind.

Peterson was not wearing his seatbelt and received injuries from the crash. There were passengers on the bus at the time of crash, but neither they nor Sanders were injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
