A 48 year-old-woman died in a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Iona Road and 15th East, Monday afternoon.

At around 1 p.m. Monday, a white Cadillac was traveling north on 15th east when it was hit by a black Pontiac Sunfire that was traveling east on Iona Road. The two cars crashed through a stop sign and then hit a power pole.

Both passengers from the Pontiac Sunfire were transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center via ambulance. The female passenger of the Sunfire, Maria Elena Patino-Arreola (48), succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Bonneville County Sheriff’s office is continuing to investigate the accident.
