Rainfall slows Partridge fire spread

The Partridge fire, located about 9 miles east-southeast of Osborn Bridge near the Warm River Road, is now estimated at about 553 acres.

The lightning caused fire is 0 percent contained, as fire crews allow it to burn for resource management purposes. Crews will continue to improve natural barriers along the Baker Draw Road and Warm River Road.

Moisture and cooler temperatures have allowed fire crews to be reassigned and the Ashton-Island Park Ranger District will continue to monitor the fire.

There was minimal fire growth Tuesday and additional half-inch of precipitation was expected Wednesday.

Fish Creek Road #082 and Big Grassy Road #572 will remain closed.
