Museum of Idaho accepts Battelle contribution

The Museum of Idaho capital campaign has accepted a $50,000 donation from Battelle Energy Alliance.

Battelle Energy Alliance Manager and Idaho National Laboratory Director John Grossenbacher said the money would be applied toward the museum’s capital foundation. That campaign has now reached a total $4.1 million.

The museum, at 200 N. Eastern Avenue in Idaho Falls, is working to create an endowment-type sustainability fund.

The donation will also help expand the current facility and make the 2-month closing of the museum for exhibit changeover obsolete.

The museum said the expansion will also provide the space and capacity needed to sustain its traveling exhibition program, further develop Idaho exhibits, and provide space for the care and management of historic collections.
