New art exhibit features INL research

A new exhibit opens Thursday at the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho.

In a partnership with Idaho National Laboratory, the artwork represents research being done by scientists at the lab.

Jo Pehrson, the artist in residence and board president of the museum is looking forward to the audience it will bring in.

“They’ll be able to look at elements or materials nearly to the atomic level, so what we’ve done is we’ve taken really fascinating imagery, turned it into abstract art but the imagery is practically invisible to the naked eye,” said Pehrson.

The museum is looking forward to the exhibit and the new crowd it will attract.

“It’s something we’ve been thinking about doing for a long time and with the museum’s strong educational component we just think it’s a perfect fit to promote the arts and sciences, they really do go so hand in hand,” said Miyai Abe Griggs, Director of the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho.

If you’re interested in seeing the exhibit it will be open from Oct. 1st- Nov. 6th.
