Wyoming panel approves Jackson economic development projects

The Town of Jackson’s plans for improvements at the Snow King Sports and Events Center were approved by the Wyoming State Land and Investment Board Thursday.

The town requested a $500,000 Community Enhancement grand and a $1,201,256 Business Ready Community (BRC) loan to pay for upgrades.

The board also approved a $750,000 Child Care grant to assist with the construction of a new facility for the Children’s Learning Center at 105 Mercill Avenue.

The Wyoming Business Council administers the BRC program, which provides financing for publicly-owned infrastructure that serves the needs of business and promotes economic development within Wyoming communities.

The State Land and Investment Board is comprised of Wyoming’s five statewide elected officials; governor, secretary of state, state auditor, state treasurer, and state superintendent of public instruction. The board considers all recommendations from the business council for final approval.

Statewide, the panel approved 19 project requests totaling $15,002,625.
