Mayors continue talks about closed mail processing plant

The mayors of Pocatello and Chubbuck continue to talk with the United States Postal Service about the closure of the Pocatello Processing Center.

On Monday Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad and Chubbuck Mayor Kevin England took part in a conference call with USPS officials in Washington D.C.

The call comes about two weeks after a delegation from Pocatello and Chubbuck traveled to Washington to deliver stories from locals to the Postal Service.

All but two of the stories detailed the difficulties people have experienced with mail since the processing center was closed.

“It was a good conversation,” said Mayor Blad. “We plan to continue these talks in a spirit of cooperation to resolve this issue.”
