Trapped Sober educates students

The Bonneville Youth Development Council held its 11th annual Trapped Sober Conference to educate high school students on the dangers of drunk driving Friday.

High school students in Bonneville County experienced first hand what it’s like to be under the influence.

Students put on drunk goggles and attempted to complete an obstacle course. Officers also had students try to walk in a straight line while wearing the goggles.

Team leader Addyson Barnes talked to us about her experience with the goggles.

“At first I thought I was OK, and then I started looking down, moving, and I was like, ‘OK, I can’t function right, I can’t even walk straight, why should I do anything when I’m that drunk?'”
