Driver injured in Highway 20 crash in serious condition

The driver was seriously injured after a single vehicle rollover crash on Highway 20 near the Science Center Drive exit.

The Idaho State Police say Sheridan Mattson, age 20, of Rigby, was driving westbound in a 1985 Ford Ranger, when he lost control of his vehicle, hit the guard rail, and rolled his vehicle in the median. Mattson was thrown from the truck and landed on the eastbound shoulder of U.S. Highway 20. Mattson was transported by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. According to a spokesperson for EIRMC, Mattson is currently in serious condition.

Mattson was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident.

The left eastbound lane of travel was blocked for approximately one hour while crews worked to clear the scene. Idaho State Police was assisted by the Idaho Falls Police Department and Bonneville County Sheriffs Office in responding to the crash.

The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
