Man and his dog escape house fire in Dubois

A military vet and his dog are recovering after escaping a house fire in Dubois.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office says just after 6 p.m. Monday night deputies along with the Clark County Fire Department and Clark County Ambulance were called to a house fire on North Reynolds.

The owner of the home Alec Chrisco was sleeping in the back bedroom, his barking dog woke him up to find the entire inside of his house on fire.

Chrisco punched the bedroom window with his fist breaking it. Chrisco he and his dog both escaped out the broken window.

The sheriff’s office says it looks like the fire was started by a couple of ceramic heaters in the living room and the house looks like it will be a complete loss.

Chrisco was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for injured sustained while escaping out the bedroom window.
