BYU-Idaho sets fall commencement plans

Brigham Young University-Idaho will award degrees to 1,997 graduates at its fall commencement ceremonies December 18. The number of graduates represents a 16 percent increase over last year.

The university will award 534 associate degrees and 1,490 bachelor’s degrees. About 49 percent of the graduates have served as missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Elder Quentin L. Cook, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles for the Church, will be the keynote speaker. Cook was first called as a General Authority in April 1996.

Former BYU-Idaho President Kim B. Clark, now commissioner of the Church Educational System and member of the First Quorum of the Seventy, will accompany Cook.

Commencement will begin at 5:45 p.m. In the BYU-Idaho Center
