A list of new business coming to Idaho Falls and Ammon

With the holiday season in full swing, stores are seeing increased visitors as people hunt for that perfect gift. In the Idaho Falls/Ammon area, shopping and taking a quick snack break are getting easier as more stores and restaurants move in.

One of the biggest booming areas is the Sandcreek Commons Development in Ammon. “”We have Kneaders bakery caf is getting ready to break ground. Popeyes is under construction, Popeyes chicken. Rita’s custard and Ice has been announced. We’re excited to see them get going and open,” said Eric Isom, the Chief Development Officer for Ball Ventures, the company developing the shopping complex. “We’re still talking to several people that are interested in Sand Creek Commons, trying to finalize some ordeals out there, and anticipate that we’ll be able to announce some of those deals in the coming months.”

Other business coming to Ammon outside Sandcreek Commons include a Rizzo’s Pizza by the Edwards Theater, and a Discount Tire Co. on the north eastern corner of Hitt and 17th street.

In Idaho Falls, the city is looking at several new business moving in. “We have Panera Bread coming on Hitt Road. We have Thai Pan Trading coming to 17th street. Dan’s Ace Hardware will be opening on Broadway, and then Weebee toys is coming to downtown,” said Dana Briggs, the economic development director for Idaho Falls.

Briggs also said she’s talked with several other retail businesses that are interested, but said she can’t say anything yet until the move in’s are official.

Moving outside retail, the local economy looks to benefit as larger employers look to expand their operations in town. “”We also have Marriott who’s opening another hotel on the river. So that’s exciting,” said Briggs. “There are a few local manufacturing companies that are doing expansions that will really help the economy.”
