Idaho Central Credit Union gives $5K to Hope Housing Challenge

“We are so thrilled that ICCU has stepped forward to help us secure the benefactor bonus for two years in a row,” said Executive Director of NeighborWorks, Mark Dahlquist.

The big $5K check came in this morning to NeighborWorks in downtown Pocatello. Dahlquist says they’ve been getting other generous donations from the community to help provide housing for low-income residents.

He says just this past Thanksgiving, a woman just moved into a new house provided by them, in time for the holiday.

The non-profit organization goes deeper than providing housing. They also do lead checks for older houses, changing of furnaces and financial counseling to name a few.

Lunch was provided earlier today to help celebrate their kick-off of the challenge. The organization hopes to collect at least 300 donations by Dec. 31st. So far, they have 50. People who donated hang from a Christmas tree in their office to remind them of their precious donation.
