Primary election party affiliation

The last day for people to change party affiliation or become unaffiliated is March 11th for the Primary Election.

Elections Supervisor, Penny Manning, said the state of Idaho has two primaries including the one for president of the United States which is Mar. 8.

Manning said that the state of Idaho has four parties; Republican, Democrat, Libertarian and Constitution.

“That means if they are affiliated with a particular party they cannot change their affiliation after after March 11 and have it go into effect for the May primary,” said Manning.

Manning also said both the republican and constitution party have chosen to have closed primaries.

The Democrats have left their primary open.
