Night skiing is open at Kelly’s
It’s ski season and with these big winter storms night skiing at Kelly Canyon is open.
“It’s not too choppy yet, which I like,” said snowboarder Morgan Boyce. “It’s lots of powder and it’s still coming down, so it’s going to be nice.”
Kelly Canyon opened Thursday for the season, and night skiing enthusiasts were lining up at the lifts.
“We’re one of the few resorts in the whole country that has night skiing from top to bottom,” said Cherie Stoddard.
Meaning anywhere the lifts will take you, there’s light to guide you.
“You can go and just snowboard and be free,” Boyce said.
“Night skiing in particular is fun because you don’t know where you’re going so it’s like an adventure,” said Jake Lociascio.
Many love the activity because it works well with school and work schedules. And with the new night club, it’s more affordable.
“we have a new night club thing. Brand new idea this year,” said Stoddard. “You pay $99 to join the club, and then every time you come night skiing it’s only $10 instead of $32 for adults. You come whenever you want for night skiing and only pay $10 for a lift ticket.”
Kelly Canyon will be closed Christmas Day but will resume normal 9:30 to 9:30 hours on Dec. 26.
The resort also has “college days” on Wednesdays and Fridays. Students can get a lift ticket for only $17.
