Air quality advisory issued for Salmon area
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality has issued an air quality alert for the city of Salmon and the surrounding area.
Air quality is currently considered unhealthy for sensitive individuals.When air quality is very unhealthy, the entire population is more likely to be affected. Sensitive persons should avoid all physical activity outdoors. Everyone else should avoid prolonged or heavy exertion and stay indoors.
During the advisory all open burning is banned. Wood burning fireplaces in homes are still ok to use.
The DEQ will issue an update on the air quality again on Monday December 28th.
