Best time to travel is after the holidays

The holidays are over and some people may be thinking of trading in the snow climate for a tropical view.

Cheap Air reports that January and part of February are considered to be a dead zone or off-peak period, for most airlines that begins once Christmas and New Year’s Eve flights come to an end.

Travel specialist Celeste French said most of her clients are looking to vacation in warmer climates.

“So Hawaii, Mexico, Caribbean, cruises, Costa Rica that’s were people tend to go is where the weather is a little bit warmer.”

French advises travelers not to wait.

“Don’t wait till the last minute to book it. The further out you get usually the better pricing you get on airfare and the better availability on hotels or cruise ships,” said French.

According to USA Today, the month of January airlines offer bargains, they also report that Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays are the cheapest days out of the week to fly.

Cheap Air also reports that bargains depend on the destination and routes.
