Two sent to hospital following head-on crash in Bonneville County

Two people were taken to the hospital following a crash on Highway 26 Tuesday night.

According to Idaho State Police the crash happened around 6:45 p.m. about 10 miles east of Ririe.

38-year-old Joshua Ceci of Idaho Falls was driving west in a Subaru Legacy wagon. 50-year-old Michael Murphy of Driggs was driving east in a GMC Sierra pickup.

Ceci crossed the center line, nearly driving off the south side of the road. He then corrected his car back to the right and hit head-on with Murphy’s pickup in the eastbound lane.

Both Cerci and Murphy were taken by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Traffic was blocked for about 2 hours while crews worked to clean up the area.
