Indiana man arrested after hanging daughter off balcony

The Idaho Falls Police have arrested 38-year-old Christopher J. Miller for aggravated assault after he dangled a child over an eighth floor balcony ledge Tuesday night.

Miller of Plymouth, Indiana, was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.

Idaho Falls Police reports say officers responded to the Hotel on the Falls, 475 River Parkway, around 10 p.m. after receiving a report that Miller, who was intoxicated, was dangling his seven-year-old daughter over a balcony ledge and threatening to drop her from the eighth floor.

Officers contacted the child and the child’s mother. The mother stated she and Miller got into an argument during Miller’s visitation with their children. When she left the room and went outside to her car she heard the daughter screaming and saw Miller holding their daughter partially over the balcony railing.

The child managed to get away from Miller and ran outside the hotel to her mother.
