Utah couple arrested for resisting police

A Utah couple was arrested in a Pocatello grocery store parking lot at 330 E. Benton Street shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday.

According to reports, Pocatello Police had a warrant for James Evans, 41, when they spotted his car in the parking lot.

When police approached the vehicle they found Evans and Hillarie Kaye Reed, 23, both of West Valley, Utah, in the car.

A police dog indicated drugs may have been in the car.

Police said that as Evans was being arrested, Reed grabbed a case he was holding and attempted to run away from police. Police found drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine in the case.

Evans was arrested for resisting and obstructing an officer and manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.

Reed was arrested for resisting and obstructing and assault upon an officer.
