Idaho Falls man arrested after threatening neighbor with gun

On Sunday Idaho Falls Police arrested 63-year-old Larry D. Croft for aggravated assault after he threatened his neighbor with a gun.

Croft was also booked into the Bonneville County Jail on two outstanding Bonneville County warrants.

According to police reports, officers responded to the 600 block of John Adams Court around 6:15 p.m. Sunday after receiving an aggravated assault complaint. The victim reported to police that his power had been shut off. As he and his friend were turning the power box back on outside they were confronted by Croft.

The victim says Croft began yelling and then threatened them with a .38 caliber handgun. The victim says he tried to calm Croft down but was unsuccessful. The victims were able to get away after they slapped the gun out of Croft’s hand and knocked him to the ground.

Police attempted to contact Croft at his residence. After several failed attempts, Croft would notcome to the door. The IFPD SWAT team was called to the scene and after some short negotiations, Croft came out of the residence.
