Idaho Falls man held on $250,000 bond after Blackfoot drug bust

Bond has been set at $250,000 for an Idaho Falls man arrested in Blackfoot Sunday.

Blackfoot Police said an officer pulled over a vehicle near Bergner and Meridian Streets for a minor traffic offense at about 7:45 p.m.. The driver, Benito Junior Mora, 38, was wanted on a misdemeanor warrant out of Idaho Falls.

After identifying the driver, police said officers found three quarters of a pound of methamphetamine, one quarter ounce of cocaine and two handguns. One of the guns was a .45 caliber and the other a 9 mm.

Police placed the street value of the drugs at between $10,000 and $12,000.

Mora is currently being held in the Bingham County jail on charges of drug trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

He is expected to appear in court on the charges January 21.
