News Producer – Paid Internship
KIFI and KIDK TV are accepting resumes for a paid broadcast/digital producing internship.
We offer real-world, hands-on experience with the goal of preparing producer candidates for full-time employment in our Idaho Falls newsroom.
The internship is open to currently enrolled college/university juniors, seniors, and graduate students; recent college/university graduates are also eligible. Preference will be given to students who plan to live and work in the Idaho Falls area or one of the other 9 News-Press and Gazette broadcast markets: http://npgco.com
Eligibility requirements:
Intern candidates must be currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from a program for Journalism, Broadcasting, English or a related field. Must be available to work up to 40 hours per week for a 12 week period between the months of June and August; days and hours will vary to coincide with college schedule. Must possess excellent communication skills. Must be a voracious news consumer conversant in current events.
Creative individuals with superior writing/communications skills are encouraged to apply. Duties include assisting newscast producers, digital content producers and assignment editors.
We offer a competitive hourly wage; interns are not eligible for insurance benefits, holiday pay or PTO; internship employment is contingent upon the successful outcome of a background check and drug screening.
